New Strychnine for 8 years ago

One of our live songs to listen to.

This song is off the record, in the sense that it won't be on the record.

The lyrics were an attempt to do a new version of The Sonics' Strychnine if you know that song. New in 2005 that was.

Out Without The In-Crowd

Hello reader(s),

Sorry for the delay.  By necessity I had to let a safe period of time elapse before publishing the latest news from The Mor Paranoids.

A couple of weeks ago we ventured from our building, the Cooling Tower, to the London Borough of Camden.  It had been a long time - about eight years - since we had travelled that far.

I am pleased to report that we made it there and back.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.  The reason for the expedition was to test the songs in a less cavernous space than the tower.  So we made use of a room of the size that we will be playing show(s) in - about 8' square (picture above), the aim of the exercise being to miniaturise the M.P. sound to correspond to the size of the projected audience.

That took until the early sunset.  Then to take advantage of being in the area, we decided to do some divining as voluntary service to the local community.

If you don't know what divining is, this is a process to detect underground water sources with a pair of metal rods.  The diviner can do this while remaining on the surface.  We were there to search out the Camden Well of Inspiration.

There had been an extended period of suppressed, hysterical panic in the borough as their well ran dry about twenty years ago.

It's not widely known that wells of Inspiration can take liquid form, the official line being that they are an abstract concept.

Now I don't know if they knew we were coming (it didn't come from us) but it seems a bit too much of a co-incidence that British Waterways chose that particular weekend to drain the lock.  Do you know what I mean?

In any case, the rods moved nary a shiver.

OK, maybe I've said enough.

For now,
Robert
